These mugs are inspired by our beautiful natives found in and around our streets, gardens, and forests.
Each mug has variations due to the layers of application and heat work in the kiln.
They are double dipped and carefully hand painted to achieve a beautiful reactive flowing effect.
The process starts with a dip in one of our stock glazes Cashmere or Spearmint. This forms the canvas where the hand painting begins which requires skill, precision and a lot of time.
Finally, the mugs are dipped in a top glaze and placed in the kiln.
During the glaze firing the different layers will combine and flow creating downward movement producing the look of bark on gum trees or flowers on branches.
